Chinese Ronghua velvet flowers, made of twisted silk and copper wire, are also known as official flowers and wedding flowers. Emperor Zhongzong of Tang, Li Xian, designated Yangzhou velvet flowers as imperial palace flowers every spring, bestowed upon his concubines. Later, these flowers spread among the common people. Velvet flowers are vibrant and diverse, yet elegant yet vibrant, earning them the reputation of being the "little jade" of handicrafts. The homophonic "velvet flower" (ronghua) symbolizes prosperity and good fortune, symbolizing auspiciousness and blessings. Therefore, using velvet flowers as decorations during traditional holidays and weddings is a common custom.

In ancient Yangzhou, the flower-making industry was very developed, making it a famous place for crafted flowers in China. Among the flower-making in Yangzhou, Ronghua velvet flowers have the longest history, the most varieties, and the greatest influence. In addition, Yangzhou Ronghua velvet flowers are often made from high-quality twisted silk. Through dyeing and simple tools, they can be carved into a variety of floral and animal forms. The resulting brooches, hairpins, and hairpins are vibrant, lively, and charming, yet elegant.

In fact, the traditional production process involves:
Dyeing the silk threads - Burning copper (preferably 0.2 gauge copper wire) - Sorting the velvet - Brushing the velvet - Twisting the copper - Shearing the velvet -Twisting the thread strip - Shaping the thread velvet petal - Making the flowers.
However, if you still want to make it by yourself, we don’t need to the steps of "dyeing the silk threads" and "burning the copper wire", semi-finished products are generally available and the supplier will provide the real materials that you need to do the Ronghua velvet flowers, it’s easy to choose what color you like etc. So the current process is as follows:

① Sorting the velvet - Arrange the threads and fix it on the wooden stick
